I ride because I love the problem solving that comes from riding different horses, and if you're lucky, getting to establish a long term relationship with one. I have a mind that never really shuts off, but when I'm riding a horse, I'm not thinking about anything else, and I love that sort of concentration. I also love the fact that it truly is a life long learning process, both in the saddle and on the ground.

I own a 2003 Thoroughbred Gelding named Monty and I have owned him for nine years now. We currently compete in the High Adult Jumpers, but have done a bit of everything! - Hunters, Equitation, Eventing, Dressage & Trail Riding. I ride because I always want  to push myself to become better, not necessarily in the show ring, but as a horseman and to try new things with my horse Monty.

Anasofia Vazquez

Her show anxiety was causing her to stop at jumps. She knew it was affecting her horse. By working consistently on her mental skills, she was able to become the confident leader her Thoroughbred gelding needed.

I’m a professional rider and trainer, and have a full-service program in Rancho Santa Fe, California focusing primarily on creating confident, happy, successful horse and rider pairs in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings. I work primarily with amateur riders, and always find that confidence is the biggest pain point. As a trainer, I want to give my clients the best possible chance of success, which is why I’m a supporter of Masterclass and the resource it provides.

So I am an amateur rider, which means that Chloe and I are learning together, which is awesome. I rescued her from the kill pen in January (she was a former buggy horse for the Amish) and we are now doing dressage! Because she is so large when she gets moving in her trot (she is quite light on her feet for a Percheron!) I was having some anxiety and balance issues. What I love about the master class, is that it is helping me with my seat, as well as confidence and continued bonding with my horse. It's also online, and I can log in at any time and listen to all of the amazing experienced riders give their advice and pearls of wisdom.

I have been riding since I was 4 years old when my feet barely reached the stirrups and I did the hunters most of my life, recently switching to the jumpers a couple years ago (ummm why did I not switch sooner!? Jumpers are WAY more fun!!). I wanted to own a horse my entire life and while I was able to ride and show growing up, I didn't lease until I was out of college, and i didn't own my first horse until I was 28, who I bought with my own money from my first real job!

Rupert is off the track and we have been with each other through many ups and downs of his growing up years. We are finally in that stage of our relationship where he is my absolute best teammate who I trust 100%.
